Oregon State Fair's Closing Weekend Falls on Labor Day This Year
Published September 5, 2026
The Oregon State Fair wraps up its 2026 run on September 7, which means this year the fair's closing days line up with Labor Day weekend — giving anyone who hasn't made it down to Salem yet one last three-day window to go.
Closing weekends tend to be the fair's second-busiest stretch after opening weekend, so expect fuller parking lots and longer lines at the most popular rides and food vendors than you'd see on a quieter weekday. The concert lineup at the L.B. Day Amphitheatre continues through the final weekend as well, free with general admission on a first-come, first-served basis.
For families in Beaverton, Gresham, Lake Oswego, West Linn, or the Clackamas area treating this as a Labor Day outing, it's worth arriving earlier in the day rather than mid-afternoon — both for parking and for beating the worst of the crowds at the gate.
Whatever your plans for the long weekend, if the state fair has been on your list this year, this closing weekend is the last chance before it packs up until next August.
